A Microsoft Windows version, exclusive to Steam, was announced on August 16, 2012. The PlayStation 3 version was released in North America on Augand Novemin Europe via the PlayStation Network. The Xbox 360 version was released on Augvia Xbox Live Arcade as part of the Xbox Live Summer of Arcade. It features music created by members of Newgrounds. Examples include some of the animations where the combat effects aren't even synced with the characters - and dialogue, where required, is severely lacking. Castle Crashers is a 2D indie-game style hack-and-slash video game developed by The Behemoth. While there aren't any game-breaking bugs or anything that really hinders gameplay - the sheer monotony and lack of development effort really do bubble at the surface. That's got to be a depressing notion for people investing a lot of time and faith in these franchises. The management has obviously sanctioned this game as a barebones offering - no love is given back to fans. Each of the available six playable personas has unique abilities and skills, including their own stage and boss fight - none of which are engaging.įor characters that feature lots of love and care to make their respective franchises stand out - they serve as poor ambassadors to the Cartoon Network entity in video game form.
They've done just enough to make accurate representations of the TV characters. What makes the story fun is there isnt traditional narrative. Sure, theres Crystal and Evil Wizard to boot. Rather, four princesses and Knights in a variety of armor. Developers have simply made the game function as a beat em' up incorporating the most basic combat mechanics. Tale in Castle Crashers hearken back to the age old drama of the Knight in shining armor out to rescue the beleaguered princess. 'Cartoon Network: Battle Crashers' screams bare minimum throughout its gameplay. Suddenly all your CN favorites like Mordecai from the Regular Show and Finn and Jake from Adventure Time are on board. Uncle Grandpa is on a joyride when he suddenly smashes his RV into other Cartoon Network shows. Let's start with the underlying narrative just to inject some premise into this disasterpiece. This problem has been getting pretty bad, so we're gonna start deleting posts over this.and you'd be spot on with thinking this - Cartoon Network: Battle Crashers comes off as a dire game from the get-go.
